Atletico Madrid Could miss Valencia game due to injury

Stefan Savic has had no luck when it comes to playing for Montenegro recently, as he was forced to pull out of his nation's squad due to injury over this international break.

At club level it is much the same story. Although he has not suffered a serious injury this season, Savic was unable to play in Atletico Madrid's recent game against Eibar due to muscular discomfort, and he was also missing for large chunks of the previous campaign.

In fact, as a result of the aforementioned discomfort, Savic was sidelined for a total of 134 days and 18 matches during the 18/19 LaLiga Santander season, which caused a proverbial selection headache for Los Rojiblancos head coach Diego Simeone.

Despite the niggles, Savic has proved to be a reliable option for the Argentine. In the seven games he has played this season (where he completed the full 90 minutes), Atletico have conceded a paltry four goals.

With key Champions League and domestic clashes against the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Valencia in the pipeline, Simeone will be hoping that the centre-back can get past this knock and return ready for action in the near future.
