About 300 passengers on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to London were caught up in a pneumonia scare when they were told some people on board were suffering from possible symptoms.
Passengers were made to stay on board while doctors boarded the plane at Heathrow Airport on Thursday morning only to discover the travellers were suffering from influenza.
Flight CX255 was carrying 22 crew members and 295 passengers, including nine babies.
A 36-year-old woman, who was in transit to Germany with her husband and six-month-old son, said an announcement was broadcast about the scare 30 minutes before the landing in London.'We were told not to leave the plane as doctors had to inspect three passengers who had symptoms of atypical pneumonia. But there was no panic. Everyone was really calm,' the passenger said.
She said several doctors boarded the plane and left about 10 minutes later. The passengers were then allowed to leave the plane.
