Horse No 3 CALIFORNIA BANNER (J132) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.
Horse No 4 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly afterwards.
When questioned regarding his riding and his decision to shift to the outside of RUN YES RUN near the 100 Metres, B Avdulla stated that approaching that point he felt that both SANTORINI and RUN YES RUN were laying out and this may have resulted in the run to the inside of RUN YES RUN closing.
He said for this reason he then elected to shift to the outside of RUN YES RUN to obtain clear running inside the 100 Metres, but as he did so, RUN YES RUN (M Chadwick) shifted out, resulting in CALIFORNIA MOXIE having difficulty obtaining clear running and being buffeted for room between RUN YES RUN and PATCH OF COSMO.
B Avdulla was advised he must ensure that there is sufficient racing room when he improves into similar runs in future.
M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
