Simi Khadra had an international upbringing

Khadra, 30, spent her childhood growing up here and there. She was born in 1993 in Saudi Arabia to Palestinian parents, then raised in London before heading to Dubai for high school and going to university at the University of Southern California, where she majored in film production and fine art with her twin sister Haze, according to W Magazine.

She is very proud of her roots and is usually vocal about her country, from attending human rights protests to helping raise over US$20,000 to power the homes of families in Gaza, per Grazia. “I feel lucky because we are Palestinians,” she said on Jay Shetty’s podcast On Purpose.

Simi and her twin sister Haze share a passion for music, and they’ve turned this hobby into a career. After mixing some beats at a friend’s party, they caught the attention of a music manager, the girls shared with Elle. They have performed on top stages like Coachella.

She is a fashion influencer

The sisters got involved in the fashion industry early thanks to their mother’s boutique in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At the age of 14, they were already sitting at the front row of events like Paris Fashion Week, per Elle. “We got to be in Chanel’s The Little Black Jacket book, which was cool,” Khadra told the publication. “But I was in the middle of finals when we had to go to Paris and shoot it. Simi and Haze also run a make-up company.

Launched in 2021, SimiHaze Beauty offers products for both day and night, from lip balms and face gem stickers to mascaras and eyeshadows, according to its website.

For the Khadra sisters, make-up is less about looking pretty and more about being creative. “Our discovery of beauty didn’t come from a place of ‘Oh, I have to wear make-up to look pretty,’” Simi told Vogue. “It was more, ‘How can we use colour in an interesting, fun, and bold way?’”

Khadra has been spotted hanging out with A-listers including Blackpink’s Jennie and even her new man’s exes. When Khadra and The Weeknd were reportedly kissing last year, pop star Selena Gomez, who had been with him for almost a year back in 2017, shared Instagram photos with the Khadra sisters, leading fans to believe that there was no change to their friendship “since 2013”.

Khadra has a brother Fai, who, just like his sisters, also works in the music industry. He is a singer and songwriter who has written for other artists, per The National News.
