The much-ballyhooed shareholders' club M1nt offered a 'sneak preview' on Thursday, with entertainment provided by Aussie band Sneaky Sound System (who would've been Robbie Williams had his concert not been canned). Our first impression of the place? The decor is impressive, especially the hypnotic jellyfish and shark tanks, but will high-rollers venture so far west towards Sheung Wan to party? Not all is ready for the November 8 opening, but founder Alistair Paton is not particularly worried. The former commodity trader had a much more stressful time in London dealing with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (the two pictured in happier times, Ramsay far left), who owned the building where the first M1nt club was based. 'He wanted to sell the building so he shut off the heat and hot water to try to force us out. We put our rent with a lawyer with instruction to only release it when the power and services were returned.' Countersuits ensued and eventually Paton decided to move M1nt London to another building. 'Ramsay didn't expect as much of a fight from us,' Paton said.
