ONE Championship flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon is now a married man.
“The Iron Man” wed his fiancée and fellow fighter Aida Looksaikongdin in a nikah ceremony in their native Thailand over the weekend, and the couple have now shared some snapshots of what looks like a beautiful ceremony.
“Nikah is the proof of true love. sincerity to take care of each other forever not just in this world,” Rodtang, 25, wrote in an Instagram post of the Muslim solemnisation ceremony.
“But it is an agreement to be together ... forever (I’m your life forever).”
Rodtang and Aida have already received warm messages from several ONE notables on social media, including former two-division MMA champion Martin Nguyen and the promotion’s CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
The well-wishes are likely to continue over the coming days as word of their wedding spreads.
“Story of 2 of us from now on, we will be together forever,” Rodtang wrote in an earlier social media post.
However, Rodtang will soon have to shift his focus back to his fighting career, as he has not one but two title fights on the calendar.
He is set to challenge fellow Thai Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing belt at ONE Fight Night 8 March 25 in Singapore.
Less than two months later, he will attempt to defend his flyweight Muay Thai title against Mexico’s Edgar Tabares. The fight will land on the main card of ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver, Colorado – the promotion’s first card on US soil.
Rodtang won flyweight Muay Thai gold with a unanimous-decision win over British star Jonathan Haggerty in 2019.
He has since defended it against Walter Goncalves, in a rematch with Haggerty, against Petchdam Petchyindee Academy, and most recently against Joseph Lasiri, the ONE strawweight Muay Thai champion.
He has interspersed those title defences with victories over Danial Williams and Jacob Smith in non-title Muay Thai bouts, and wins against Tagir Khalilov and Jiduo Yibu under kickboxing rules.
He also competed in a special rules clash with flyweight MMA champ Demetrious Johnson last year, which he lost via second-round submission.
His new wife Aida does not compete for ONE Championship, but notably lost a split decision to two-fight ONE veteran Marie Ruumet last year.
