The record producer Timbaland has apologized toBritney Spears for comments he made at the release of her 'The Woman In Me' memoir that said Justin Timberlake should have kept her quiet.

It came after the 39-year-old 'Toxic' singer said that she was pregnant with her ex, Timberlake, but he wanted her to have an abortion and didn't feel ready to be a father.

This prompted Timbaland to feel as though he could speak out on the matter as he suggested the Californian woman was seeking attention.

"I wanted to call and say, 'JT [Timberlake], you've got to put a muzzle on that [Spears]," Timbaland said at the Kennedy Center on October 30. "You know what? We live in the age of social media.

"Everybody wants to go viral. I get it because that's the way you make money [is to] go viral."

The comments were disrespectful without any context anyway by suggesting a man should control a woman, but are in particularly bad taste considering Spears' 13-year conservatorship at the hands of her father.

It seems that after catching some flak from social media, the 51-year-old accepted his wrongdoings and issued an apology to her

"I'm sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her," Timbaland said on TikTok Live. "You have a voice. You speak what you want to speak.

"Who am I to tell you what not to speak? I was wrong for saying that."

Lance Bass has suggested that Timberlake feels fine despite the comments Spears has written and published to the world.

She had, alongside the abortion, said that he had cheated on her multiple times and was quite happy to move on after the break-up despite Spears struggling mentally.

"Yes, we're all good," Bass, an ex-bandmate of Timberlake, said to People. "People will survive.

"Look, everyone has their own opinion. I feel like the world is so full of hate right now and we need to practise a little forgiveness. Britney did."
